E-reader mode

News becomes a reader — one screen per page, no scrolling — and the TV page is hidden. Every other page works exactly as it does now. This device only.

News layout

List is one story per row with a small picture. Grid is a contact sheet, three across.

Reader text size

Bigger text means fewer stories on a page, not a longer page.

Page-turn animation

A slide as the page turns. Leave it off on e-ink, where the redraw ghosts.

High contrast

Flat black on white: the warm tint, the accent colour and every shadow go.

Open notes ready to write

Opening a note goes straight to full size with the pen live — and touching a note with the stylus does the same. Like picking up the notebook, not clicking a form.

Sharp ink (slower)

Off, handwriting is drawn at half the panel's pixel density — measurably faster to draw, and the reason ink can keep up with the pen. Turn it on for finer strokes if your device is quick enough. Takes effect the next time you open a note to write.

People who have signed up. Approve to let someone in; disable to shut an account without deleting it. You cannot disable yourself.

Design

Changing the design updates the browser tab icon instantly. If you've installed this as an app, the home-screen icon is cached at install time — reinstall the app to pick up the new design.

Accent color

Each accent is two colors, not one: the block is the fill on buttons and chips, the strip under it is the shade used for text — darkened for light mode, lifted for dark. Switch the mode above and the strips change with it. Every pairing here clears 4.5:1 against the page it sits on.

Tint engine icon to accent

How notes and descriptions read by default. Kept on the profile and synced with the account, so every device signed in to this profile reads the same way; each profile can have its own. Colours take their dark-theme value on their own. A note's own font and colour, and marks inside the text, still win over these.

Scales the whole page — spacing, controls and text together.

Bookmarks: Icon shows a bookmarks button on the page, Dock keeps a bookmarks bar above the navigation, Off hides both.

Subscribe to calendar feeds by their private iCal address. Read-only: events show here, editing opens the provider.

Show timeboxes

A band behind Day, Work week and Week for time held for a kind of work. It never appears in Month or Agenda — there is no hour there to hold.

Hours shown in Day and Week

The grid fits these hours to the height it has. Events outside the window are not lost — they show once the window covers them.

New event or task from a cell lasts

What the form opens with when you add from a cell on the Day or Week grid. The cells themselves are half an hour either way, so you can still start on the half hour.

Reminder for new events

What a new event starts with. Every event can say something else, and this changes nothing already made.

Outlook account type

Which Outlook “Open in Outlook” should use. Personal = outlook.com / hotmail / live. Work or school = a Microsoft 365 account.

Add a calendar

Google: Settings › your calendar › Integrate calendar › “Secret address in iCal format”.
Outlook: Settings › Calendar › Shared calendars › Publish a calendar › copy the ICS link.
These URLs are private — anyone holding one can read that calendar.

These apply to the Tasks page and the panel beside the calendar alike.

Show notes with a due date

Show completed tasks in the list

Show closed tasks on the calendar

Closed means Completed, Canceled, On hold or archived. A closed task keeps its dates, but stops showing them — no deadline mark, no month flag, no agenda row, no reminder.

Events and dated notes are shown as links — opening one takes you to the calendar entry or the note itself, rather than making a second copy of it.

Column width on the board

How wide a column is on the Groups, Status, People and Date boards. Narrow fits more of them on screen before it scrolls; wide gives long task names room to sit on one line. On a phone the board is one column whatever this says.

Reminder for new tasks

Before the booking when there is one, before the deadline when there is not. Every task can say something else.

Anyone here can be assigned a task. The list follows your account, so it is the same on every device.

A task booked over more than one date, and lasting longer than twelve hours, is a fact about those days rather than about an hour in them. It draws above the Work week and Week grids as one bar across the days it covers, instead of as a block down every column it touches. Day, Month and Agenda are unchanged.

Twelve ways to draw it. The top six carry the name; the bottom six are marks only, for a week with too many runs in it to label — a count under them opens the names.

The kinds of work a timebox can hold. Modes of work, not projects — projects are what task groups are for, and a box can carry both: Deep work, on a task in Orkide.

Show archived

Archived notes stay under Archive either way; on, they also show in All, Star, Recent and the groups. This device only.

Reminder for a note's date

A note has a day rather than an hour, so its reminder is a time of day rather than a head start.

New notes start

Paper

The colour and paper a new note is made with. Changing this leaves the notes you already have as they are.

Default is the site accent, so the titles follow whatever accent the theme is on. Note ink puts them back in the same colour as the writing.

Open in Explorer

Needs the one-time handler from tools/win-open on this PC. With it off, a click copies the path instead.

Open files, not just their folder

Off, a file link reveals the file in Explorer with it selected. On, it opens in whatever Windows uses for it. Programs and scripts are always revealed, never run, whichever way this is set. Needs the handler above, and a version of home-open.ps1 from this release or later.

Opens on

Which view the page starts in. A group is only offered while it exists; delete it and this falls back to All.

Show archived

Decommissioned and legacy entries, hidden by default.

Columns

How many folders sit side by side. More columns fit more on screen; fewer leave room for a long path.

Pick your Obsidian team notes. Each file becomes a group; every folder link inside it becomes an entry, keeping its section. Re-importing a file replaces that group.

Every entry stores its path relative to one of these. Change a drive letter here and every entry under it follows.
